How to Meal-Prep Savory Oatmeal for a Whole Work Week

Five Days, Five Minutes Each

Savory Oatmeal already cooks fast. Here is how to make your whole week even faster.

Step 1: Pick Your Flavors

Buy a Value Pack, or mix flavors from single packs. Some people eat the same flavor all week. Others rotate Chicken, Steak, and Bacon Oatmeal to stay interested.

Step 2: Pre-Portion Your Toppings

Chop scallions, shred cheese, or portion hot sauce into small containers on Sunday. Store them in the refrigerator for grab-and-go additions each morning.

Step 3: Cook to Order, Not in Advance

Do not cook all five pouches on Sunday. Savory Oatmeal tastes best fresh, and it only takes three minutes. Cook each bowl the morning you eat it.

Step 4: Build a Grab Station

Keep a shelf or bin in your kitchen with five pouches, a bowl, and a spoon. Removing decisions from your morning saves more time than removing steps.

Step 5: Stock Your Toppings Bar

Keep two or three pre-portioned toppings in the refrigerator at all times. A five-minute breakfast with real flavor beats a ten-minute breakfast you skip.

Meal prep does not have to mean batch-cooking everything on Sunday. Sometimes it just means removing every excuse to skip breakfast.
